How do I schedule a ride?

Scheduling a ride with RIDES2U is effortless with our user-friendly app – just download it from the App Store or log in online, create an account, and quickly schedule your rides with a few taps, whether it's for airport transfers or daily commuting. Where do you service?

RIDES2U now serves Indiana's vibrant cities, including South Bend, West Lafayette, Mishawaka, and Notre Dame University, Purdue University, Indiana University providing transportation for students, residents, and visitors alike. Join us for a seamless and enjoyable journey in these dynamic urban destinations!

How far in advance do I need to book my ride?

To ensure a stress-free travel experience, it's highly recommended to book your ride in advance at RIDES2U. When booking rides from airports, remember to include your flight number in the additional details box. For return trips from Chicago or Indianapolis, book 45 minutes to 1 hour after your scheduled arrival time, while international flights require 90 minutes. In South Bend, allow 30-45 minutes after scheduled landing for pickup, prepare for 2-2.5 hours for travel time to Chicago, and 2.5-3 hours to Indy. Trips within South Bend take approximately 15-20 minutes from Notre Dame campus. We suggest arriving to SBN airport 90 minutes prior to departure and Chicago airports 2 hours prior to departure. Advanced bookings enable efficient planning, ensuring a seamless journey.

What is the difference between shared and private rides?

Shared rides are a cost-effective option for up to four passengers, commonly involving multiple stops in college campuses or closely situated areas, while airport-to-campus shared rides typically have one stop. Shared rides offer affordability by dividing the cost. Private rides, designed for 1-4 people, provide exclusivity and a personalized experience, with the car reserved solely for passengers, offering privacy and flexibility. Private rides may be pricier but preferred for a tailored transportation experience.

Are there cancellation fees?

Shared Rides

For shared rides, cancellations made at least 7 days in advance without impacting other riders receive a refund minus service fees ($20 for long trips, 20% for local rides), while cancellations within 7 days are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

If your cancellation impacts another rider, either:

(1) A partial refund (30%) and ride credit (70%) will be issued

OR 

(2) 100% future ride credit can be issued (equal to same value of previously purchased ride).

In order to provide fair wages to drivers, shared rides are charged for a minimum of two seats. If you create a shared ride for a single person and no one joins, you will be informed in advance and given these options:

  • Pay for two seats

  • Cancel the ride (minus processing and handling fees)

  • Work with Rides2U on an alternative solution

  • Rides2U reserves the right to add a 5th or 6th rider to shared rides at our discretion.

  • There is a 30 minute grace period for late arrivals/traffic delays; after that we will do our best to put the delayed riders into rides scheduled later that day.

Private Rides

When a private ride is canceled due to circumstances beyond your control, a cancellation fee applies. However, it is important to note that the fee could be  higher and may vary if you choose to cancel for other reasons.

What if my flight gets delayed?

We offer a courtesy wait of up to 30 minutes after the scheduled ride time. We understand that unexpected delays can occur, especially with flights. That's why we use Flight Aware to monitor flight statuses and ensure timely service. If a flight is significantly delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe, we will gladly assist our customers in finding an alternate ride. It is important to note that cancellation fees and/or additional ride fees may apply in this situation.

What is the luggage policy?

For our shared rides, passengers are entitled to bring one free carry-on and one checked bag at no additional cost. There are fees for any additional luggage beyond this allowance. We understand that extra belongings may be necessary for certain trips, and we are more than happy to accommodate them.
